this blog is a about HOW TO WORK ON A SESSION WITH MP.3 FILES !!!

Latency in Mp.3 

At first it doesn t matter what encoder you use or what is your system,mac or Pc this all doesn t matter.When you Convert an audio (Wav or Aif) in to Mp.3 you have ALL THE TIME a little latency on the Start of your track(bad silence).There is NOTHING what you can do because this is a part (not so fine)of the mp.3 self.What is also important is that the latency is not all the time the same.It is not posible to say it is generaly 20000 samples or something like this.Get the picture ! You have a Session with 8 tracks and they want all start on the first bar but in real they start all on another point,One there and the other there.When you have big luck you can get some interested Grooves but normaly this will not work :-)

After You have download the mp.3 you want import it in your daw.Now take a look on the first bar of the track.There you see the waveform of the click and when you look a now a little clooser to it you will noticed that the first click is not in real on the first bar.To watch this now very easy and fine it is the best to open your audioeditor of your Daw and use a higher zoom on the wave form.

Here you see the Orginal Click track so it must be normaly.The first click is right on the first bar.

But in your Daw the imported track looks now so like it is on the picture.

And Now ? What to do ?

This is now a fine and easy thing to do because i have here a click recorded.This click had a fast attack in the waveform and so it is easy to delete the silence and the track is now in sync again so like the orginal.BUT !!! When you have now something other like a fade in pad sound,a vocal track or something other what starts not on the first bar it is complicated to find the right point,

Here now i have do the last step.I have now tagged (marker )this part where we have the BAD SILENCE.I mean (take a look on the picture) the part between the 1.1.1 and the start of the wave form.After it  DELETE this part and READY.The first click is now on the bar 1 and so the track is in sync Now 1/8 is again a 1/8 and not just something alike this or near this.You can add now anything to it in a very easy and fine way.AND in the right way.Your 1/4 or 1/8 works now so as it must be.

In my opinion this was now very easy to do and when you take now a listen you will noticed that the groove works very fine.Also this what you add will work now very fine.

WORK WITH CLICK AND SAVE YOUR TIME FOR DOING MUSIC !!!

On my Sessions i want now work all the time with a ckick and my hope is that the members of my Session will do this also !!! 

 Step By Step "How to work on a Minime Session "

1.You Start with downloading the Mp.3 what i have created for the Session.Now you got it on your Computer.Import it in your DAW.

2.Now you have it on the first Bar and you have type in the Session Tempo,time signature and so on in your Daw so as it must be.

3.Click the imported track (on most daws) and now it opens up your Audioeditor for the imprted track.Take a higher zoom and look on the firs bar.Now you will see that the first click is NOT on the first bar. Marker the part between the start (First bar) and the Startpoint of the waveform from the first click.

4.Now delete this part.Now check it out and create a loop somewhere to listen (From bar 1-bar 2 for example).And ? Yeeeeah it is RIGHT in time.

5.Start with your work and when you have ready your tracks record them all with the click you have now and from now on we have all an easy way to work because whenever we load something we know what to do and then we have all a fine groove and an easy way out of this dilema that the tracks on a Session are not right in the timing.

PLEASE PLEASE BELIEVE ME THIS IS THE WAY ! I know this is for some of you a new thing and it needs a while but when you have do it for some times you will never do it other again in the future !

I am so happy to have you on my Session and i know that you are an excelent Musician,i know that your tracks will be all awesome and so please it can not be that you all give your 100 % best and at the end it works only 80 % because we have there this little tech thing what do this silly things with our tracks.A situation like this i want call a sad thing and a Session is a thing to have FUN ! RIGHT ?

From time to time i want do update this blog because with some more pictures other words or a video this could be more easy and then my english........hahahaaaaa.......i know it sounds like a two years old baby what want tell something about technic...........yes that s funny but i try..............
