Hey man, If you're still interested in that "crash course" I'll be arriving in Norman, OK tonight and might have some time tomorrow morning to meet for a couple of hours. I'll be performing at U of O tomorrow night at this event. http://www.ou.edu/worldlit/2009-neustadt-public-schedule.html

hope you can make it.

cheers,
Bobak

PS i like that Great Expectations tune... sounds like you've studied Chopin, Beethoven and the likes of them. Keep grindin!

Thanx 4 the comment on my Gin & Mone track. Find it kool to be inspiring to an already inspired musician.

Hey Sam, thanks for the kind words. Eastern music is quite broad, and I can't imagine that you would be able to learn all of it in one place. I suspect the most accessible tradition where you are (Oklahoma?) would be Indian, and possibly Arabic music. Both are quite rich and have deep roots in the east. My background is Persian, and although I have studied western music, gypsy music, Latin folk, Brazilian Jazz, Flamenco, I still find that my Persian roots set the foundation for what I create. I will be doing a show in at University of Oklahoma (Norman) in October. Let me know if you're interested in the details.

cheers,
Bobak
