Working With Others

How I Work:

Get your own Chat Box! Go Large!

Experience:

I'm a bassist/producer from Detroit. I studied with Rodney Whitaker and Stuart Sankey. I have been fortunate enough to play with some truly outstanding musicians. I've played with Antonio Hart, the late great Elvin Jones, Stefon Harris, Ernest Ranglin, Carl Craig, Mark Whitfield, Marcus Belgrave, Craig Taborn, Winard Harper and Marcus Strickland among others. I basically just want to network and meet some cool people on this site. I currently tour and record with the great guitar master Russell Malone. I look forward to the Indaba experience..

The Deacon wrote on November 27, 2008:

Tas, I didn't start working on K-OS yet. Probably start to take a look at the songs after Thanksgiving.

I have the feeling this guy is going to blow up. This is strictly based on what I hear being played on the radio these days. I think he's coming along at the right time.

David R. wrote on November 27, 2008:

Thanks, T. Yeah - my problem is getting my drums to bump. I need to figure that out.

Anyone who can hang with Russell Malone and Antonio Hart is good in my book. I really liked your "Criminal" remix, too. I'm looking forward to whatever you come up with.

sounds like a plan!

Wilf L. wrote on November 26, 2008:

meditating haha. no.. just chilling.. want to have a clear mind.

Wilf L. wrote on November 26, 2008:

Hey man! Didn't mingle into the K OS thing yet. Just concentrating on The Roots right now.

Ryan Roberts wrote on November 26, 2008:

Are you still having issues with the Zambony stems?

Yes the contest is basically the same, with the exception of the fact that, the winner will be chosen by a panel a judges. The top ten relates to winning a signed cd, not seed placement for overall pick (as in 'The Roots' contest).

Josh Bisher wrote on November 25, 2008:

I just voted for your hot to the extreme mix. Will you vote me back. Seriously I did. I'm not a bullshit liar!

AFfriKkAaa / Vol wrote on November 24, 2008:

Safe Tassili! Really appreciate it man. It's good to know that some of the mix's I like made it through. You got my vote man...You got sum fire on the boards too!lol. All the best in the next round.

Peace!

Ryan Roberts wrote on November 24, 2008:

I appreciate it. You've got some pretty dangerous tracks up there yourself. I did a couple new tracks with Mantis and Oresti this weekend. Hopefully I can get em posted pretty soon. Keep on keepin' on.

Spikey Jay wrote on November 23, 2008:

What's up Tass! Yeah, I considered it for a little bit, but after the Mariah Carey contest shenanigans, I decided I needed to take a little break from Indaba for a little bit. I left a couple of posts on the board giving shout outs to you, Wilf, and Affrikka for others to check out your mixes. What was the voting scheme like this time around? Open to everybody? Or same as before? I haven't decided if I'll be entering any more Indaba comps, but I am doing another comp for a local radio station, as well as some regular ole paid mixes for some artists I know.

DJ SIMPLY E wrote on November 23, 2008:

Congratulations Tassili !!! I am glad you made it to the top 25... 3 good bass players in the final that is awesome...

Joe Lester wrote on November 20, 2008:
