About Me

Skill Level:
Professional
Craft:
composer
Instruments:
harp, keyboard, voice
Genres:
folktronica, classical, world

First off, the "Craft" section above doesn't seem to allow "performer", which is the other half of my craft. Now that's out of the way, I am a trained pianist-turned-celtic harper, who performs on those instruments and composes for string quartet, various ensembles and piano. This is what I do full time, so my days are pretty much broken up into rehearsals, composing or filling out the ungodly amounts of paperwork demanded in the commissions and grants process.

A good online collaboration site will help immensely with my goals, because locally it's very often difficult to find just the right artist to help out on a project. Thanks for being there, Indaba.

Working With Others

How I Work:

My schedule is flexible. I am open to a mere exchange of services (vocal tracks for keyboard track, for instance) or an hourly rate for a session track. I am also open to project arrangements, which can be negotiated on a case by case basis.

Experience:

34 years playing experience in keyboards. 14 in performing celtic harp. So many hours as a hired studio session player that I've lost count. Touring on the festival circuit. About a dozen published CDs. Several opening slots for big names (Ultravox, Art of Noise) and feature slots at several arts festivals and cultural events.

Equipment:

Troubadour IV celtic harp (Lyon and Healy)
88 key controller
Roland JX-305
Roland Super JV 1080
Several outboard effects
Computer synth system - Native Instruments and other party VST plugins.

Payments:
This user does not accept PayPal for session payment

Thanks for adding me! I really love the music you've posted, very dreamy and ethereal yet with contrast from piece to piece. I would love to hear your string quartet live, it's so exciting!

Thanks for adding me to the group! I look forward to participating. I enjoyed your tracks--nice harp playing! I've always wanted to play the harp and recently started learning on a little Sharpsicle. Let me know if you ever need a flutist (classical or many world flutes), or my new specialty... toy instruments (see Yo-Yo Ma entry "Child's Play").

Hi, thanks for the add. Yeah, I'm new to this and all but it really seemed sweet and all, and yeah, I'm a freshman at a university in horn performance, hoping to get my B.A. and hopefully masters in performance before i start performing and all. :P

My Irish half loves Tapestry. Authentic colors, nice form, and lovely melody over traditional chord play. The celtic harp is a joy. It's great that you let the instruments share lead passages. The reverb is a little much, but it does help the illusion of a cathedral perfromance. In my headphones there seems to be some distortion too.
I'll come back for more later.

Hello! I really love your first track! It is so gorgious, very well played and the music is very emotive, it you have a fantastic song arrangement and your choice of instruments is excellent. I am not too keen on track 2, it is excellent as a piece of music but I am not sure it works well in the same play list as track one as it is just too much of a contrast and sends out a slight confusing message to listeners about what you and your music are all about. But as I said it is an excellent piece of music but I think its important that as artists we are honest with each other.
Track 3 again is a complete contrast, you certainly have a very broad range of genres! I do really like track 2 I think it is very quirky, unusual and would work brilliantly to picture. I love your choice of sounds as well! Your tunes are very well produced as well! Again only negative about track 3 it is such a contrast with your other tracks it leaves the listener feeling confused about what you are all about.
I hope my comments have helped you, you are clearly very talented, keep up the good work!
