About Me

Skill Level:
Semi-Pro
Craft:
educator/teacher, composer
Instruments:
synthesizer, electric guitar, recorder, piano, keyboard, flute, voice
Genres:
acid jazz, jazz-funk, electrofunk, progressive rock, orchestra, electro, dance pop, popular, fusion jazz, ambient
Influences:
Howard Jones, Herbie Hancock, Clannad, Enya, Jean-Michel Jarre, Jethro Tull, The Prodigy, Bjork, Ian Van Dahl, Goldfrapp, Sade, George Michael, Gloria Estefan, Evanescence, Abba, Vivaldi, Bach, Maynard Ferguson

I'm mainly here to find people who enjoy mixing genres. For years I have had an idea of the style I want to create but I haven't the guitar, bass, mixing skills or contacts with male vocalists to be able to completely create the sound I am after. I'm useless at programming MIDI drum tracks too and have never played real drums, so I'm stuck with using only drum samples at the moment. Drummers or rhythm programmers would be very useful to me.

I love listening to bands who mix synths with rock, jazz or orchestral instruments. I also enjoy listening to groups with lots of vocal harmonies but
need male vocalists to be able to achieve that in my own work. Female vocalists who are good at harmonies would also be handy to find. I also have a passion for big bands. If any of the above applies to you I'd be happy to hear from you.

Working With Others

How I Work:

Not done any online collaboration before so I'm not sure how I will wish to work. Some weeks I can work a lot others I will not be able to, for health reasons - got mild M.E. When I relapse I ban myself from the pc for a few days to recover, so short deadlines can be a problem but hopefully not be too much of a nuisance.

Equipment:

Ableton Live 7, Reason 4, FL Studio 8, Sonar 2 but don't use it much these days, Korg PA 80 keyboard, Yamaha RM1X, Roland JV2080, Yamaha walkstation, Westminster flute (I think), Semi-accoustic Epiphone guitar, .....
