About Me

Yo! Wassup!!! I'm Stephen May . I'm mainly focused on urban music such as Rap, RnB, Funk or any kind of groove related to hip hop. But I am open to any form of musical art... Debussy, Carla Bley, Charles Mingus, Ray Charles, Elvis, Prince, Dr Dre, Mangu, Dizzy Gilespie, the Beatles, Santana, Free, Jimi Hendrix, Alice Cooper, David Bowie...sorry for all those i didn't name... the list of my influences could go on for ever I am a poroducer a composer and a musician (guitar, keyboard, percussion...) I have my own production unit called UVP (Urban Vibz Production) so I can record, mix and master anything for any artist I produce. i am here on Indaba to share my work and experience with a community deeply involved in music production. I love making remixes and adapt to any style of music. It is a good way to challenge your skillz and become a better producer. Cheerz! If you have any remark or question, I'll get back @ you ASAP.

Just voted for your George clinton remix. I did his vocals mixed with "Strange Enough" and "Way Down". Check it out, let me know what you think. (The anti spam Thing won't let me send my site) I'm stuck in 171st place if you want to try and find it.

oh, I see we both got honourable mentions on big wheel eh? rock'n'roll!

Joachim Heise wrote on October 26, 2009:

yeah, straight up man. peace, and good luck...

Joachim Heise wrote on October 26, 2009:

man, the waveform shape was what made me think you normalized it in the first place. if you can get that close to digital zero without normalizing, props man. well done. that's why I was asking, dude. It was an honest question. When you got all offended, I assumed you had misinterpreted, because I see no reason to freak out about it. And I'm well aware of what Indaba does to audio files. I've had to reupload a couple of things where the transients had just gotten massacred. I guess you're used to dealing with flamers, seeing as you responded so negatively to all of this. I ain't like that though, I've been following your tracks basically since I've been here, man. Nothin but respect.

Joachim Heise wrote on October 26, 2009:

erm... k, this has happened to me before. "normalize" doesn't mean it's unoriginal. it's a gain processing function that makes the file adhere to digital zero (ie maximum volume) the whole way through. I wasn't cussing your mix at all, I thought it was dope. just not a fan of normalizing.

Rodney R. wrote on October 24, 2009:

Thanks bro... I'm goanna dig into it some more

Rodney R. wrote on October 24, 2009:
