Jamar (Juztakid Kiddo) Francis was given to the world on May 22, 1990. The oldest of three children he knew he would be the one to set the example and watch out for his younger brother and sister. " I watch alot of famous people on T.V. and of course i would like to be there. but i also be thinkin like how cool it would be to be family to that Dude na'mean"
Moving around alot can be tough for most people but the young emcee has seemed to adopt to the flow of change everywhere he settled. "Yeah it's hard to move and uproot from ya closest friends or whatever" says Kiddo" but you have to adjust, especially when you don't have much say so in the matter". Born in Washington, D.C. , raised in Conneticut, Spent more of his days roaming the caribbean streets of Jamaica, then finally moving to Florida. If it's one thing this aspiring poet knows how to do is move. " And da move don't stop there. I like to travel. so i plan to move alot"
Juztakid Kiddo always had a passion for music and entertaining in general. By the 3rd Grade he was acting. Nailing the lead role in the school play" John Henry" was just the first. During his stay in Jamaica he really took up a passion for music and dancing. After arriving in Miami, Florida where he attended Lake Stevens Middle did he realize just how much more indept he could be. " Yeah see i came to Miami dancin or whatever then i went to Lake Stevens. There i had met this dude named Donny Stevens and homie could rap. and I knew about rap or whatever cuz that's around the time What's my name from Bow Wow came out and Lil Romeo was out and everybody was into that. I was into that too but i couldnt't rap. So one day we had a class project to do and we had to write music. I was in class and i just started writin and Bam I came out wit a nice little piece of music, which i might record one day." It was then that Juztakid knew he wanted to be a rapper. After years of freestyling and writing and many name changes, Kiddo finally became that rapper that he claims himself and others can and want to listen to." See at first i was a rapper, spittin hot flows or whatever. But then one day in high school my history teacher Ms. Butler asked the class what we wanted to be when we grow up. Of course I said rapper. Then she hit me with something I never thought of before. She goes and says why a rapper thats so common . Why not and Urban Poet or somethin. That's why I refer to myself as and urban Poet these days. And it's not just a title either I went and started listening and readin more poetry. I really got into the whole def poet thing and i started getting into more jazz and just broading my view on the art that i was creating."
After performing in many shows and even being nominated for POET of th Year by poetry.com,Juztakid Kiddo is a fresh and brand new face that we should all watch out for in the near future. Much Luv
