About Me

Skill Level:
Semi-Pro
Craft:
mixing engineer, songwriter, musician, mastering engineer
Instruments:
electric guitar, percussion, electric bass, keyboard
Genres:
disco, afrobeat, acid jazz, jazz, funk, reggae, latin jazz

Although I play music for quite some time I never stop being excited by the way one musician influences another during collaboration. The fact that you got an idea and when that realized to a tune with the participation of other people, you listen to it and it is so different from what you had in mind in the first place. That is the main reason that makes me goin' on and playin' music all these years. I love the 70s I'm a fan of blaxploitation movies and culture. And the music...anything with a groove from that decade, well it's definetely my thing. In my mixes I 'm tryin' to recreate the sound produced by the studios then (Stax,Motown,The Automatt etc.).

Working With Others

How I Work:

I don't see music as a profession.I work for free and I'm just looking for likeminded people to collaborate with in my/their projects and make some nice grooves together.

Experience:

Played various instruments with bands for 15 years and had a few gigs.

Equipment:

Electric Guitar : Gibson Les Paul Studio,Bass : Cheap Imitation of the Fender Precision,Various Percussions,Keyboards, a couple of microphones,Alesis stereo compressor/gate,Vox Tonelab SE effect pedal tweaked to funk up my bass and guitar (also used as an outboard effect in mixing for reverb, chorus etc.), and M Audio NRV10 Firewire Mixer,a Behringer tube parametric EQ and a Behringer tube compressor/limiter,so far. An example of my sound can be found on my band's (Le Son Noir) page. It is all homemade and 95 per cent hardware.
