I'm interested in using traditional techniques and concepts to create new music. For example: the use of modes rather than diatonic scales; use of drones; fingerpicking; exploring time signatures and rhythms not often utilized in popular music; using instruments in genres where they may not be commonplace. I tend to prefer acoustic instrumentation to electric, if only because of the tonal qualities-- I like sounds. I'm largely self-taught and my grasp of theory is tenuous. I wish I was a better player and poet than I am, but I try. :)

Extended

Band or Group:
The Odd Wolves; The Conquistadors; The Green Grass Boys
Favorite Lyric:

Then take me disappearin' through the smoke rings of my mind
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves
Let me forget about today until tomorrow.

Working With Others
