When I grow up, I want to be a musicologist akin to Peter Schikele. I've been a music hobbyist since 1981. I studied music theory at the University of Utah School of Music. My art is Sound Sculpture. Despite my philosophy that music should not be pigeon-holed into style, class or genre, what I produce sounds extraordinarily conventional. (Read my influences to explain this.) I am a paradox.
- Band or Group:
- Oregon Chad/ Information Awareness Office
- Favorite Lyric:
living is easy with eyes closed,
misunderstanding all you see,
it's getting hard to be someone,
but it all works out,
it doesn't matter much to me.
- Day Job:
- keeping it.

- How I Work:
I use a PC. I am constructing everything from loops and midi files. I arrange, edit and mix using Acoustica Mixcraft 4. I step time program in midi format using Myriad Melody Assistant and real time perform with a midi controller. I write instrumentally and I would like to collaborate online with vocalists and lyricists. My strongest skills are in engineering a good mix and recently I'm developing my skills as an arranger. Many of the tracks I've posted here represent my recent attempts at arranging. I'm on the Indaba site most often during the weekends.
- Experience:
Primarily a hobbyist, arranger and composer. Some band experience as a keyboardist in the mid 90's.
I have contributed original theme music to podcasters for the past year. I have 6 years experience as a volunteer sound engineer during the 1990's.
- Equipment:
M-Audio MicroTrack 24/96 portable stereo digital recorder, Audio Technica AT2020 dynamic microphone (borrowed), Behringer Xenyx 1202 FX mixer (borrowed), personal desktop computer, Kawai K1 II midi keyboard.

I listened to a ballad on one of your open sessions. You said the song needed vocals and lyrics; I'd like to take a crack at this one and feed it back to you for your consideration. You have about the feel in a keyboardist I'm seeking. If you have lyrics to the song feed them through. If you need lyrics put to it let me know. I'll feed your track (stereo) into my DAW for starters if that's O.K. then maybe we can go from there. Believe me I like your style or I would not write. My site is leobowers.com and you my man are my very first contact request on Indaba!
Sincerely,
Leo B.

Cool Tracks :D
