About Me

Skill Level:
Semi-Pro
Craft:
recording engineer, producer, session musician
Instruments:
keyboard, electric guitar, acoustic guitar
Genres:
hip hop, rap, Pop, electronic, rhythm and blues (r&b)
Influences:
Timbaland & Magoo, Missy Elliott, Dr. Dre, Pharrell Williams, Will.i.am, Just Blaze, Daz Dillinger, TLC, New Edition, Usher, Babyface, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis

Being an Engineer/Producer/Remixer/Artist is a rare thing in music and
Jonaah Arc is trying to break a barrier in the industry and come into her
own by being one of the first premier female Engineer/Producer's in the
game. Not only an artist, but a musician as well playing the guitar with
efficient ease and blessing compositions with a grace that only a feminine
finesse can bring. Born and raised in Compton, CA she found solace and a
quite calm in music that helped her deal with her gang infested
environment, hectic home life, and missing father figure. At the age of 10
she became a rapper, in high schoool joined the band in addition to
becoming a member of various groups until the age of 21 when she finally
decided to stay a solo artist. Previous to this decision, she had also
spent some time in the Navy and the Army Reserves, this resulted in her one
and only child. In 2004 she decided to take up the recording engineering
field and signed up for admission to Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA ,
where she obtained a 3.8 G.P.A. ; being the only female in her mostly male
class. As told by Jonaah Arc: I wanted to dive deeper into music, and being
the person that I am, be able to wear more than one hat in the field that I
love so much. Engineering gave me a whole new love for music , it gave me
another way to manipulate sound; its like painting with it. I started
getting into producing more two years ago . I took a trip to Motown and was
moved by the history of all that good music. Got back to L.A. and spent
$5,000 on my first pieces of studio equipment , then I just kept adding.
I'm not into making all my beats digital so I went and got some outboard
gear that looks really nice and has great sounds! I combine them with my
Reasons 4 , Logic 8 Pro, Garage Band, and Protools 8. Looking forward to
embarking on a new journey in music she has decided to do a new album.
Jonaah Arc: I feel like I'm a whole new person , and I want to document
this time in my life, and I wanna do that to a nice beat.
