Mafia has been rapping, singing and dancing since the age of thirteen, MAFIA soon became known in his New Jersey and FLATBUSH BROOKLYN neighborhood as the "HOTTEST RAPPER WITH A REGGAE STYLE FLOW".
Mafia was born on December 15, in upstate New York and was raised in Brooklyn, New York. In teenage years he moved to New Jersey and performed in school, talent shows, and the local clubs NY/NJ/PHILLY area. He also battled rappers on the corners of Avon Avenue and Chancellor Avenue in the Newark and Irvington area. At the age of sixteen, MAFIA and two other friends, Samson a.k.a German and Lenard a.k.a. Russian, formed a rap/reggae group called "Culture Posse". They put out a single named "FOR REAL" under a label called "Cutting Records”, which was based in the Bronx area. They did the club circuit in New Jersey and toured around the 52 states. After the hit, the group disbanded and Mafia went solo; he began connecting with Wyclef Jean, Lauren Hill, and Prazwel of the "Fugees".
