Hey Affrikkaaa! Got a new rock/metal mix posted called "Pendulum." It's for the Opie and Anthony Radio show on K-Rock/XM Radio. I called into the show and Opie actually said he loved my mix on the air, which is awesome - hopefully it'll get some air time soon. I wrote all of the music on the track, performed all of the instruments, and recorded, produced, and mixed it at my studio - Enjoy! - Spikey

Hi AF I like marching elemts espacially from Samba and brazillian music in general. But the main connection for the jungle feel is the hook "I can't help it". This helpless feel reminds of a man trying to bring some rationality into the jungle and gettin tired of it while he is eaten up by the ones he wants to help. He decides instead of bringing some sense to Apes life to go with the flow and be the biggest Ape.

Jungle is to me a symbolic of human nature that is still following more the rules of apes than the possibilitys of human mind. And still biology is puttin us to the ape family. So radical spoken there are no human beings ther are only apes that can think little more. Me and you included...lol

All the best
Djordji

Wow, Affrikkaaa - thank you so much for that amazing comment. I really appreciate it, and am honored to hear that you rank my work among the best on Indaba. Truly an honor. your Roots mix hottt - nice and raw. The production keeps us focused on the vocal, constantly, which is always most important. Great ideas for the 2nd verse in terms of opening it up and making it different from the first. You have my vote my friend - keep in touch, and best of luck with the contest! - Spikey

Hi Afrika yeah keepin it real often the best option lol.
I got an dual 1,8 G5 with an UAD with a Metric Halo interface...thats enough but i have also a intel Imac wich i use to test PC tools to produce...after long years producing with Logic I'm searchin for fresh things (too me) like samplitude or sonar...the new version of Protools is gonna be interisting too

Uganda...man i have some unfinished Projects with Nigirians from London and i want to finish it if possible because always i here the tracks it hurts like a open wound.

i don't know wehn but if it happens than i'm in London... hope we gonna meet and you show me places with nice chicks. lol

* Djordji wrote on November 13, 2008:

Yo to keep at real i got to say that the Theremin sound is a plugin preset from sound fx pro. lol but I definitly gonna by one because of the sound in the air you know what i mean? Yeah its hard to produce with a weak computer i hope your update is gonna be an imac. Thats more than enough. I think you found the weak point in your process. It took me a long time to get a feeling vor tweakin the sounds as i like and that they work in a Mix. the best thing is to find a someone who you can work with. thats the fastes way to learn. I see you are located in London. From where are you roots? nigiria?

Yann NoiR wrote on November 13, 2008:

nice vocoder work u got there.... was thinking to do somthing with vocoder at first but then my mix got less &less electronical, so didnt :D

Safe Bruv, nuff respec. We've voted for you too, coz the tune is heavy.

Keep representing the london mans yes!

* Djordji wrote on November 13, 2008:

Hi AFfriKka,
The “Synth Sound” that you heare is a Theremin, an instrument created by a russian scientist in 1920.

http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=cd4jvtAr8JM&feature=related

to improve your mix egt clear in the production steps for example 1.day idea flow 2.day arrangement 3. day Mix 4. day premastering. Maybe you work faster or slower it's just an example. Each step has a technical and a creative side. Sound design is a process that starts in the idea flow get more precise in the arrangement and get worked out in the Mix. Get a feelin for that. to get good and clear Sound (Industriestandard) in the Mix you got to know about Frequenzies and the range your dealin in your songs/beats to find your center.

With wich DAW do you work?

i think ya mix is inervative bruv...like da vocoder use...voted for ya...easy

* Djordji wrote on November 12, 2008:

Hi AFfriKkAaa i like the feelin of your remix. Mix aint the best and the vocoder line ain't sounding to good. but you got my vote because of your creativity about the chorus and because i can feel this digital sadnass.
But get n touch with sounddesign because vibes are loosing a lot at that point. Greetz Djordji
