Jackie Clark wrote on April 19, 2009:

Thanks Andrew for the comments about my attempts to play piano!! hahaha! I was actually a keyboardist first.Played organ at my church fro 13 yrs but when I started playing bass professionally,I stopped playing cold turkey! I even started playing bass at my church and left the piano for 7 yrs!! that was the worst mistake I ever made!! I've been playing keys again for about 15 months.I can play decent enough but only for 8 or 16 bars at a time!!! Gotta crawl before I can walk again!! hahaha! I guess I've gotten lazy to tracking songs in sections. Thanks man,it means a lot cause you're a heck of a player bro!!

Dude, I like what I`m hearing. Nice stuff...

Vince Gibbs wrote on April 14, 2009:

Yeah, Timbaland also uses Open Labs gear. Matter of fact, they made one just for him called the TSE (Timbaland Special Edition). They only made a certain amount of those. I almost bought one, but decided on the LX5 instead.

Anyway, you sure fooled me on that bass! :-)

Also, if you win this thing, I won't be mad atcha cuz your mix is SLAMMIN'!

Treetop Productions wrote on April 12, 2009:

Thx for the comment on the JL mix.. The piano work is Beau who I (PC ;-) ;-)) was telling you about. Together we make up Treetop. I showed him your mix and he thought it should definitely win. Although it seems as though you need a large facebook friend list to win this comp. I see you added him as a contact. He'd be down to put keys to a track, you should hit him up, although it seems like you don't need any help in that department, still might be fun.

TreeTop Scott wrote on April 11, 2009:

Nah, A little before my time. You should see Beau in my contact list since he's my only one. We both just set up our pages but I will tell him to put up some of his work.

Vince Gibbs wrote on April 11, 2009:

Hey Andrew,
Thanks for the nice comments! I really dig that bass playing on your remix. Is that a live bass? Sounds like it.

I am loving my NeKo. It is really nice for me having everything I need right at my fingertips. It has improved my workflow tremendously.

The NeoConsPiracy wrote on April 11, 2009:

Thanks Andrew, It's not a patch on yours (cue drumfill/cymbal smash from the pit!)

The pad is just garageband's "reflective strings". It works OK, but I was so rushed that I didn't really have time to write much with it. About 85 mins the lot, so I'm trying to see if anyone wants to keep building it...

Good luck in the comp - yours is a serious contender.

TreeTop Scott wrote on April 10, 2009:

My pleasure, yours is awesome. checked out your other work, really cool. You should contact my partner BeauD he is an amazing pianist/composer. Glad you like mine, I made it for fun. I didn't want to try and pass it off as my own since I was remaking PC. It's one of those songs that requires patience and has more emphasis on the vocals until that famous drum fill. Cheers

Jackie Clark wrote on April 10, 2009:

I'm using the BX5a deluxe boxes...they sound great for what I need here at home...they seem to translate well to the car, small and large systems considering how cheap they are.

I'm always game for collab when I can find the time. I missed out on quite a few session offers cause I joined the site and then left for London for a month. When I got back,I forgot about the site and had 5-6 session offers that have since expired.I thought entering the remix contest was cool since I'm new to the sequencing game.Let's keep in touch and see what happens!

Peace,

JC

Jackie Clark wrote on April 10, 2009:

Are you talking about the M-Audio BX5a monitors? If so,I have the same ones and they translate well in the car,cd player or wherever(knock on wood) hahaha! You have to be careful where you place them..of course I'm sure you already know that though! :-)

Peace,

JC

Nampo R. wrote on April 9, 2009:

thanks a lot for the comment Andrew!
well, i don't have a mpc, i can't afford the price, but maybe one day... so obviously i don't make the beat with an mpc, just using my midi keyboard on my sequencer (cubase sx3), my soundbank and a virtual sampler (Halion).

Where could i hear your music?

Peace!
