I completely care! That was one of the main reasons we started Indaba. We wanted to build a cool place where musicians like us could get together and support each other. We are all in the same game and have a sincere love for music - we should support each other. There are so many beautiful Indaba members and I am happy you are meeting some of them. I can see from the response of others that you have gained a few new fans here; I am happy to include myself. We are happy to have you a part of the community. Keep rockin' Brutha!

Sopheary Long wrote on August 19, 2009:

Yeah. You are too busy. I will assume we won't be finishing up anything. You have some new talent. Hope things are well.

No worries :)
I'm thinking backing vocals... keep me posted on your progress!

Pedro Bastidas wrote on July 24, 2009:

Thanks! I'm a student but, of course, I can teach you some tricks :)
I haven't listened your music, I'll do it soon.

Cris M. wrote on July 20, 2009:

Wow, thanks for such a detailed reply A. I dug out my mothballed computer today which runs XP, and on yet another soundcard. Still had probbies so NFI. Yes, I changed the .DLL with some patch from a tech site but Music Creator and Sonar still record a delay (echo) between key strike and when processed. I've taken it to the computer store twice and they said it was in the too hard basket, so sadly I think it's beaten me for now. I even was using an external solution to recorded 'what u hear' by running a cable from audio out to audio in, as vista bastards have disabled the mixer.
There must be a ton of players on here you'd think that would love to work on your grooves. Be a lot of fun. I seem to have had limited responses. Maybe the site is young, and it's pretty buggy too. May I suggest you hit some players up and invite them personally to your session. Check there styles, or go to an appropriate community. Better still jump into someone else's sesh.
Thanks again for your help A, but I might call it a day for now.
Good luck with the tunes, they sound good.
When you polish them up, and there ready for the public, think about uploading them to mp3.com.au they even have charts there so that's a lot of fun.

cheers
C

Cris M. wrote on July 19, 2009:

Thanks so much A. I've tried 3 sound cards, and 2 different music softwares and have to agree with the lads at the computer store and the techs on the online forums. I think the Vista operating system is a bit of a dog (they've disabled what u hear recording for starters on the mixing desk - to stop piracy I think). It probably needs a u-beaut sound card to solve the problem - problem being that there's a delay between when I strike the key and it is recorded. So if i do any sequencing or overdubs it's all out of time.
Loved your 'A session' you posted. There's so much you could do with it, I'd love to fiddle with it. Free flowing style is good, but I can easily give you tips on direction if you'd like. Unfortunately I think the computers got me beat at the moment.

Sopheary Long wrote on July 19, 2009:

How have you been?

Cris M. wrote on July 18, 2009:

Thanks Ascension. Would love to start something afresh with you. My soundcard/operating system doesn't seem to be working though now I've upgraded to Vista but invite me to a session and I'll see if I can get it working. Cheers C

Ali Lewis wrote on July 1, 2009:

Hi there and thanks so much for your nice comment. Loving your music too (though my laptop speakers are causing some of the bass parts to sound distorted... will have to listen on something better later on).
Cheers to you :-)

Why thank you sir, you are indeed a music scientist to be reckoned with!

Alright I added you on MSN. Mine is dxhvier@hotmail.com in case you're wondering who that is. Good looking out.

Xavi H. wrote on June 26, 2009:

Thanks for the comment. lol yea i'm aware of the mixer and effects in FL. I'm currently working on mastering... getting the compressing/limiting basics down. If you have any pointers there, that'd be great. Oh btw, diggin the music. keep it up!

Hey!
There is NEVER wasted time when one is making music. I intend to keep the promise I made a while ago. I just need to figure out how it can work.

ogc music wrote on June 1, 2009:

ill be honest, im equally worried about my stuff sounding good enough to post as i am people stealing it. kinda wierd. i realy just got into digital music about 3 years ago and did my first set at a show a few months back. ill put some tracks up tonight though man, i have been pretty slack with this site and it seems innovative and focused on musiciannish networking so.... yeah man tell me what ya think when i post em. cool pic btw ( in a hurry didnt have time to listen to your stuff but ill do that as well soon as i get outa work)

Kanker Moeder....clarifies some about you social networks in Amsterdam...(Probably not Surinamese, like Italians they tend to adore their mothers). Thnx. in andvance for the tracks & grzt. from rainy Amsterdam.

Taylor Huckaby wrote on May 17, 2009:

Hey, check out my final version of Spidereyes and tell me what you think...

Gnib . wrote on May 17, 2009:

Kanker means cancer, vet = fat. Vet is used like "cool" in your language, probably "cancer cool" is not really habitual slang.

OK, being serious again...I hoped you would win the noise reinvented contest. I really liked "Enter dreamscape". It shows a lot of hard work, composing and the execution is perfect....which brings me to my humble request. Can I have the track (as WAV so I can burn it on a CD). You can use some file-sharing service (its a big file I guess). I recommend soundcloud.com (which is sort of a music community). In case yours truly wants to honour my humble request, my mail: bing@gnib.eu.

Sorry if that comment seemed indifferent. Im just used to much of music being listened to in 5 minutes or less. Take a listen to what I got, turn it up. I actually used audacity to change up almost every sound used, whether pitch or time... The bird sound was pretty much in its original state but hey... there's a lot of artists who use samples as they are. Looks like you have many people working in your favor in the voting contest...Hope you get what you want.
