I started playing drums at 10, and I've been playing for 22 years. I come from a very musical family. My dad was a professional drummer for 30 years. And my mom is a classically trained pianist and singer. I play a little piano and sing harmonies as well, but my dad says I'm a natural drummer. Well, that, and PLAYING DRUMS IS MY REASON FOR BEING! Both were a huge influence on me musically. I have been playing in a variety of bands since the age of 14 and have been doing studio work since the age of 20. I am currently playing in 3 bands, and I am always looking for more opportunities. Music is my passion after all. My current bands are THE BIZARRO KIDS, TREY WILLIAMS EXPERIENCE, and a personal project! I get offers for studio work outside my bands. Occasionally, I get to do some studio work with The Manor Analog Studio and I have also been doing sessions here on Indaba, when my time allows. As I have a very busy musical life. Unfortunately, I don't always get to do as many sessions as I'd like to due to time, but I am open for doing whole albums and the occasional song. Just ask, and I'll try to make the time. Playing drums makes me happiest and I hope to get more professional work in the future. Contact me for any studio, live work, or other info. brandythedrummer@gmail.com

Working With Others

How I Work:

I mostly play by feel, but I do read a little and know my rudiments. I can be loud or soft. Traditional or match grip. I have been told that I have a natural sense of meter, dynamics, and precision. I love to play and I am very disciplined and hard working.

I have a studio, The Manor Analog Studios, and engineer, Stephen King, that I work with. So I have no problem getting drums recorded. I usually go in once per week to record drum tracks. It is analog so it takes a few days to get my tracks back, but the sound is worth it!

Experience:

I have been playing, 22 years, in a variety of bands since the age of 14 and have been doing studio work since the age of 20.

My current bands are , THE BIZARRO KIDS, THE TREY WILLIAMS EXPERIENCE, and a project with some good friends and talented musicians!

Equipment:

I have 3 drumsets. 1961 Ludwig, 1987 Pearl, 2007 Gretsch. I use Zildjian cymbals, Gibraltar hardware, and Pro-Mark & Zildjian drumsticks.

Dunno if you'll get a chance, but there's a cool session just begging for a drummer...

I'd love to collab, what do you use to record your drums? Crosstown Traffic and No Quarter were nice...

Selena S. wrote on August 17, 2009:

Brandy, Thanks so much! Your drumming generates the heartbeat to the song. Who would have thought someone could make a drum set could sound so poignant as you did on "What We Have Done"? I look forward to working with you again.
