Dear Pure Digital:
I purchased a Flip Mino on November 7th at my local Best Buy. I carefully researched the product online and compared it against several of the competitors then on the market. After considering my options I decided to purchase the mino in spite of it's lack of HD support because I preferred the form factor and had heard good things about the products durability. You can imagine my disappointment when 3 days after spending 200.00 on the Mino, Pure Digital announced the release of the Mino HD. I can't help but feel somewhat bamboozled that there wasn't so much as a whisper about the HD mino on your webiste 3 days prior to it's official release. Understanding that you have moved 1.5 million units in the last 5 years. And setting aside any accounting for growth. That is an average of 821 sold a day. That means that the very minimum of estimations dictate that there were 5753 consumers who purchased a flip Mino the week prior to the release of the Mino HD. I would be willing to bet that the vast majority of those individuals feel very much like myself- somewhat betrayed by a company trying to move as many older units as possible before the new ones hits the shelf. However great your product may be (and it is) a company that puts profit ahead of its customer deserves neither and loses both.
Best,
Chris D
