My Songs
- Skill Level:
- Professional
- Craft:
- songwriter
- Instruments:
- midi keyboard
- Genres:
- Hip-Hop, roots reggae, funky breaks
- Influences:
- Bob Marley, Wu Tang Clan
I started songwriting at age 14 and won talent shows and stuff. Sound had a profound effect on me. Reggae was so melodic and funk, jazz so edgy. I started playing simple chords on a piano. I now build quite challenging tracks mainly in the genre of Hip Hop, but can back date a 25 year personal song library beginning with Roots Reggae. George Clinton has always been a major influence on me but equally Bob Marley. Now i write comedic songs with a heavy dose of synicism, aimed at the music Industry and its participants. I am currently working on a 3rd album in the LIFE album series by DaDat n BCAC, freaturing 2 projects called Stormy Blocks and Industry Fables. The 1st is a personal LIFE diary and the 2nd is an assault on game players who have seen thier name up in lights, but then fall from great heights. My skill level, is undefinable. I am currently unsigned. But i aint no ametaur or semi pro. I just make music that sounds professional and have done so for some years. Indaba, it seems, can take that pressure away, by having unknown or unsigned acts to colab with the pro's...I'll always be an artist Known or unknown, but, after already remixing songs by Snoop Dogg, Fabulous and Sean Paul, i see more exciting challenges ahead for me on Indaba....So lets Rock!!!

- How I Work:
Basically, i write a song based on a melody and build from there. Then i try different formulas for the same song. I.E; remixing. The remix is an interesting part of song building for me because you find ways to make the original song melody fit to a different arrangement. Checkout my NASA entries, featuring Kanye, Ghostface, Scarface Etc. So lets work it out and see what gives up on this gig.
- Experience:
25 years of music creativity has seen me grow older, wiser, more mature but especially, broaden my mind and horizons. Now i wanna work with the big shots. The Method Man's, The RZA's and the GZA's etc, and see how i can make them sound. I'm here to colab' with anyone or anything i find interesting. I got a few acca's that other unknowns may wanna play with. If the artist is a singed and seasoned professional, we work out royalty's etc between us. If its just dudes who wanna colab, then we colab and attach no strings until we get it all popping. My current genre is Hip Hop. I work mainly from this format as Hip Hop is all encompassing and just requires a healthy degree of imagination
- Equipment:
I got a quite basic setup...Big fan of the Akai S2000 with an extra 16 bit chip and fx section. I got ya Behringer outboards. a Samson 16/4/2 mixer, The Tascam DP digital multi track recorder is used to mix it all down. Then a wave file sent from my DP to my computor which conveniently accommodates a Stienburg wave program for professional digital mastering. From here the joint gets mp3'd and awaits the ears of the world.
