I think Apple Logic is a good idea.It s more then complete and the price is very good !!!

Logic 8, don't even consider anything else if you want comprehensive sequencing and audio recording, a huge amount of plug ins and effects included in the box, as well as 35 gigs of samples, sampler instruments, loops and sound effects.
