BIO:
It all started when...
As a child, Andrew sang and played all the instruments he could get his hands on, including saxophone, piano, keyboards, drums and various percussion instruments. By high school, Andrew was participating in rock and jazz bands while polishing his techniques and earning awards for his outstanding saxophone performances. The unique creative direction of Andrew's musical talents truly began blossoming after forming a band known as Mean Majesty, during his college years at Pratt Institute School of Art and Design, in 1990. The progressive rock influence Andrew had grown up with blended with the folk-rock influences of two additional members. This trio consisted of Andrew’s vocals, keyboards and sax leads along with acoustical guitars and unique string instruments, creating a distinct sound. Mean Majesty, with its newfound following of loyal fans, began performing at many parties, events, local venues and clubs in Brooklyn and Manhattan between 1990 and '91. After enjoying a taste of popularity and learning from an intense year of live performances, the members of the band soon graduated and went their separate ways.
Andrew graduated with a degree in fine arts, a minor in film, and a craving for more experiences as a performer. He continued performing solo or ensemble with several local bands. Drawing on all his creative talents, Andrew also began exploring acting for TV, film and theater. Growing tired of the New York grind, Andrew relocated to Florida seeking opportunities as an artist, actor and musician. It wasn’t long before he was forming a new band with a more direct rock and roll sound and a more professional attitude. The newly formed trio; Arcane Substance, was soon playing local scenes in South Florida. A solid musical relationship formed over time with the two other members of the band and kept things going for several more years. The combined professionalism and creativity developed a rich collection of musical archives and experiences between 1992 and 2000. Andrew gained experience and expertise as lead vocalist, saxophone soloist, keyboardist, and percussionist. With a bass and a lead guitarist, Andrew hit the Florida scene with a new progressive rock sound that was becoming closer to what he had envisioned than ever before. In the late 90s, Andrew decided on a new name that would capture the dynamic and expressive musical experience he wanted to share with his fans. Thus the vision for Emotive was born, and before moving on to Arizona, Emotive enjoyed moments of modest fame on local Florida radio stations, and in bars, clubs and beaches.
In April of 2001, Andrew made a bold move to Arizona in a Chevy van packed full of all his musical equipment, artwork, personal belongings, and a cat . The relocation brought the progressive rock sound of Emotive to the South West, where Andrew has single handedly recorded and produced brand new material for a forthcoming CD release, radio and internet broadcasts and new intense live performances. Emotive now records and produces all material at ATB Productions 'The Purple Cave', owned and operated by the artist and his wife, Stephanie Bearce, in Sedona, Arizona. The combined talents of Andrew Bearce as an artist, actor and musician are represented by ATB Productions. The scope of Andrew’s experience in art and acting has a dramatic influence on the music and performance, live and in the studio.
Emotive is currently a solo act featuring the song writing, vocals, saxophone, and all the instrumentation you can expect of Andrew Thomas Bearce, assisted by Stephanie Bearce, and occasional musical guests. Experience the unique explosion of sound, live or recorded. Look for Emotive’s CD release in 2007. Listen to Emotive’s new CD release, now exclusively available at www.emotivethemusic.com

Give me some time to breath
I need a place to be
Front me a spot of life
I need a place to dream
Oh...
And I walk the path of the mountain
And I fell into the sky
And as I turned round looking backwards
The sun sucked me up and I started to Dream Away...From "Dream Away" by Emotive/ Andrew T. Bearce

- Experience:
See BIO for general outline.
I've been making music since I could climb up on the piano bench. I've been writing music since my early teens. I have performed as a singer and saxophone soloist since childhood. Performed with jazz bands in middle and high school. Began performing with rock bands in high school mostly for fun. I became more professional during college years, 1987-1991, providing lead vocals, sax leads and keyboards. Continued for many years performing and recording for several bands. Became a solo artist in 2000. Built my recording studio and began doing ALL instrumentation, all writing and performing for my act: Emotive, from 2001 to present.
Now recording and performing in Sedona, Arizona. Collaborating with local musicians and trying to organize a "Music Scene"
Currently working with Storm Williams and his Syphagen project here at Indaba.
Recently finished my CD, now for sale and distribution.
Years and years of performing experience, radio play, live venues, special events, various projects, sound tracks...anything goes.
