All submissions to the Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers and Mason Proper Studio Access Contests are due in today by 11:59 pm est. If you are a registered contest participant, get your work in today so it can enter voting. The Some Velvet Morning contest has been extended an additional 25 days to coincide with their upcoming US tour, giving you more time for collaborating and more time for voting. Voting for The Stephen Kellogg and Mason Proper contests will end in two weeks, on September 28. Get after it!

This week Indaba Music launches the first in a series of Studio Access Collaboration Contests. The debut contests will feature the audio tracks of three rising young bands, all members of the Indaba community. Indaba Music members will be able to add to and remix tracks from recording artists Some Velvet Morning, Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers and Mason Proper. Contest submissions - original songs created from tracks comprising the bands' current singles - will be featured on contest pages and voted on by the community. Some Velvet Morning, a London-based indie-rock trio whose debut album drops in the US on October 9. ENTER NOW! Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers, a Northampton, Massachusetts based singer-songwriter and his band whose newest album, Glassjaw Boxer, is out July 10. ENTER NOW! Mason Proper, a critically acclaimed Michigan-based pop rock group that recently released their new album, There’s a Moth in Your Chest. ENTER NOW! Look for them on the site commenting on submissions and communicating with other artists during the lead up to their final vote on their contests in late summer. Here's how to participate: 1. ENTER. Enter to win by creating a Contest Session from one of the contest pages. 2. COLLABORATE. Your Contest Session will contain tracks from the featured band. Add audio files, modify the tracks and mix it all together into an original song. 3. SUBMIT. Submit the final mix of your original song to the Contest before the contest deadline, August 14, 2007. 4. VOTE. Once your entry is submitted it will join the list of entries on the Contest page for Indaba members to vote on. Go there, vote up your submission, and vote for others you like. 5. WIN. Once the community has voted, the band will chose the top three entries out of the top ten to award prizes. Enjoy a little competition in creating new music. Good luck! - David
