Joveek Murphy

Joveek (Ivan Omar Kort) was born on February 5th 1983 in the Caribbean in Willemstad.

In a very early stadium of his life Joveek got exposed to music by his grandfather (trumpeter), aunt (singer), father (drummer and percussionist ), but mostly by his uncle Dennis Aalse a musical genius schooled in jazz and classic who produces, arranges, composes and writes. He also worked on over 800 CD recordings and plays many instruments such as the trumpet, trombone, horn, tuba, guitar and piano.

At the age of 11, Joveek started his own musical schooling in the attic experimenting with audio and digital music. He spread his work to eventually receive feedback from other musicians and artists. It was obvious that a high artistic value was hidden within this kid with allot of potential. To learn more about this profession he decides to take music/production lessons, attended workshops and courses involving music. He gains experience at several recording studios such as Cruise Control (one the biggest hitfactories in Amsterdam, the Netherlands), teaches himself to play the piano and starts composing and arranging intensively.

At the age of seventeen he goes to study at the SAE (School of Audio Engineering) in Amsterdam (www.sae.nl) where he gains allot of experience and builds a very good network within the music industry with various top musicians, engineers and producers. After The SAE, Joveek builds his own recording studio as home base to produce and pours his all in to audio/music-production and songwriting. Soon to unfold into a magnificent all-round producer in different genres, with Popmusic and Abstract as an specialised aspect.

In 2008, Joveek signs at STRENGHOLT MUSICGROUP. He is more frequently asked to cooperate in several projects from Pop/rock to film music. The name Joveek spreads like fire. Everybody wants a peace of it!!
