Kyle was born and raised in the Northern Arizona town of Flagstaff. Raised in a musical family, he began playing the piano at the early age of four years old. He began playing upright bass around the age of ten years old. In high school Kyle became interested in jazz, and also began playing the electric bass. He went on to study bass performance at Northern Arizona University, as well as the City College of New York, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in music performance. Kyle has studied with some of the premier bassists in music, including John Patitucci, Lincoln Goines, Joel DiBartolo, and Bart Samolis. Today Kyle resides in New York City where he continues his musical endeavors.
Kyle has performed and toured with many great musicians in many different genres. The list includes Pedacinho do Brasil, The 540s,Joe Young, Paolo Orlandi, Heath Walton, Thomas Shaw, Mike Holober, Scott Reeves, Second Movement, The Dave Pittenger Band, Jill Stevenson, Chuck Marohnic,The Spherical Quartet, Gary Novak, Peter Erskine, The Swingtips, Bill Watrous, George Graham, Ted Belledin, William Ravel, Ray Riendau, and many others.
