I have been a music educator for close to 20 years. My primary purpose in music is to perform ,collaborate and just hang with the "cool" people. I find music mesmerizing and no matter how often I drift away from my main desire <<< composing and expressing my musicianship>>> something always yanks me back. I am not picky about genres, all that I care is that I like it. That was one thing that I admire about myself is my love for a mix of genres and my ability to groove with them. Even as a teacher of classical music I teach my students to play with Aretha Franklin's spirit.

As you read about my influences and listed genres you will see that I like working with all musical genres.

Extended

Day Job:
flute instructor and instructional assistant in music

Working With Others

How I Work:

I am interested in networking as a musician in whatever genre I am needed. I am semi-professional and experienced. I read music reasonably well and I teach the flute. As for flute lesson, if that is an option, I charge 35.00/hour. As a musician I charge 30.00 an hour. However, I also want collaborative oportunities and I realize that it may not always be possible to expect compensation, however that is my eventual goal once I learn the technical side of collaboration.

Experience:

I have been playing flute, professionally for 19 years. I have been teaching flute for nearly the same length of time. I also compose and arrange and will be uploading some of my work soon.

Equipment:

I have a soprano flute and a piccolo. I will soon be an owner of an alto and bass flute by the end of summer.

I have a USB mic.

Thank you Mary,

I've mentioned this before but, compared to you I'm still a student. It's very motivating to hear you complement.
I look forward to collaborating with you.

Thanks again, -ALi H

Yeah, I hope you did not mind that I did. I used to play a lot of clarinet, but no longer have one. I got into music because of Elton John. When I first heard him I used to want to play just like him. I used to play in a jazz band back in high school. It was pretty fun. I have played in a few different rock bands since whenever someone would need keyboards. I like the idea of playing with Aretha Franklin's spirit. Sometimes the lack of spirit like that can be a problem in classical. Looking forward to putting stuff together!
