Michel Durot (aka Midurix) is a trumpet & keyboard player and composer from Chile playing in different bands and various styles. “Mente Calva” ("Bald Mind") is a NU-jazz contemporary band that was founded in 2001 and is currently comprised of a quartet of Chilean musicians. The band has been evolving from various aspects of the modern sound and delivers a warm and mature instrumental experience. Fusing elements of electronics: •trumpets, keyboards and instrumentation (Michel Durot) •loops and drums (Jaime Labarca) •piano (Mario Feito) •bass (Juan Caballero) To create a refreshing sound of instrumental music. Reminiscent of a bygone time, the band’s compositions are both dynamic and at the same deliver a simple and minimalist musical proposal. With over two hours of original music in its repertoire, "Bald Mind" offers a magical trip to different places, loaded with its “Austral” (southern hemisphere) energy. The band will be touring Europe in the summer of 2011 and would welcome the opportunity to play in your community or local events.
