The winner won, Mike. That's all that can be said.

Yours was a remarkably fresh take on the composition. Couldn't stop listening to it.

Just came across your GWYD entry while randomly picking ones to listen to. Man was that sweet! I especially liked the clave (great minds think alike -- yours is the first entry other than my woodblock-based groove that I've come across that utilizes a clicky wooden beat, which I had immediately felt for this song. I also noticed the congas, which I also used throughout. I'm already thinkin' "Man this dude is cool" when I click on your profile and find out you're from Charlotteville. I was born and lived in Waynesboro for 16 years, and have worked with a couple really great firms (Nelson Byrd Landscape Architects and Train and Partners Architects) based in Charlottesville. If we hadn't moved to Delaware during my high school years, I almost assuredly would have gone to UVA.

Great remix! It took me forever to decide if it was you playing slide or a remix of Derek's lead. Sweet sounds. Do you have a website or anything?

James David Pless wrote on March 19, 2009:

A very fresh look, and very cool. Love your sound and phrasing on slide. Nice tag.
