I heard you got to play with Derek Trucks. Congratulations man.
Hey Mike - I see it posted at Derek's site. Congrats again - You Get What You Deserve! http://www.derektrucks.com/news/get-what-you-deserve-remix-contest-winner
No doubt yours was the most impressive entry. Congratulations and you deserved to win. I was was looking for more of your music to hear. Keep up the good work and enjoy the winnings! SRM and SH
The winner won, Mike. That's all that can be said.
Yours was a remarkably fresh take on the composition. Couldn't stop listening to it.

Hi Mike, Fantastic job with the Derek Trucks tune. I truly enjoyed your version. Good luck with the contest, as we await the final results. Many Cheers, John Nobles
Just came across your GWYD entry while randomly picking ones to listen to. Man was that sweet! I especially liked the clave (great minds think alike -- yours is the first entry other than my woodblock-based groove that I've come across that utilizes a clicky wooden beat, which I had immediately felt for this song. I also noticed the congas, which I also used throughout. I'm already thinkin' "Man this dude is cool" when I click on your profile and find out you're from Charlotteville. I was born and lived in Waynesboro for 16 years, and have worked with a couple really great firms (Nelson Byrd Landscape Architects and Train and Partners Architects) based in Charlottesville. If we hadn't moved to Delaware during my high school years, I almost assuredly would have gone to UVA.
Great remix! It took me forever to decide if it was you playing slide or a remix of Derek's lead. Sweet sounds. Do you have a website or anything?
A very fresh look, and very cool. Love your sound and phrasing on slide. Nice tag.
