About Me

Skill Level:
Semi-Pro
Craft:
arranger, composer
Instruments:
baritone saxophone, bass clarinet, clarinet
Genres:
rock, jazz (all), funk (all), contemporary, latin

I am a composer/arranger & musician working freelance at the moment, for any project that comes up.

I work on originals for my 10-piece group, the EMMPH 10, which I put together with my fiancee. We also work on film scores together.

Currently, I have two orchestra projects in the works, which I'm hoping to complete by August 1st for a couple of competitions.

Also, I am working with Jamey Aebersold on a play-a-long volume of the music of Randy Brecker. Before that, I did copying work for Randy with the music of Mike Stern.

Working With Others

How I Work:

How I work depends on the project & the situation:
-Generally, if it is a long-term collaboration/effort with various compositions/arrangements or even computer notation involved, work would be done with an hourly rate.
-However, if the project consists of one song/composition/arrangement, then there would be just one fee for the entire scope- including the preparation of parts and a score.
-I work on projects whenever inspired (which is pretty much all the time).

Experience:

2008:
-other projects with Jim Mcneely TBA
-collaborating with Jamey Aebersold for the play-a-long volume of the music of Randy Brecker
-participated in the Poster Showcase for the 2008 University of South Florida Center for Jazz Composition Jazz Symposium
-composed original music for student film documentary about people and their pet rats, called RATTUS [WHICH HAS BEEN ACCEPTED INTO THE PALM SPRINGS INTERNATIONAL SHORTS FESTIVAL 2008!]
-arranging/transcribing for trumpeter Randy Brecker (music of Mike Stern)
-composing a chamber composition for seven performers (flute, bass clarinet, contrabassoon, french horn, piano, violin, viola) for various competitions
-composing two orchestra pieces simultaneously for various competitions
2007:
-compositions & arrangements for own group, the EMMPH 10
-arrangment of original composition for guitarist/composer Sun Chung
-professional computer notation/arranging for composer/writer Andrew F. Ackers
-lead sheet transcription for Lee Konitz, during Teo Macero Big Band recording session (courtesy of Dave Schroeder)
2006-2007:
