Hey, the name is Lawrence, but I record under the alias of Oakleigh. (Att: I am a featured Artist on the track I posted, not the rapper! - I think some individuals may have gotten that confused :S. I'm a singer and lyricist first and foremost. If you'd like me to rap, I'm not paying for your ear surgery)

Primarily a singer with some handy songwriting skills. I've done a little work with other locals, but nothing too big. Looking for anyone who wouldn't mind taking a black kid who does something other than rnb.

I'm mostly interested in lyricism. I find the collective concept of the groups, "The Clutch" (A group of 5 singers/songwriters/producers) and "The Matrix" (3 members strong) quite interesting, and wouldn't mind being a part of an Australian version, if the opportunity ever arose.

Working With Others

How I Work:

I'll post up sample lyrics in my blog, I'll take a listen to any instrumentals up for offer, offer up my lyric and if another artist is all for it, I'll record and send the vocal.
I'd really like to jam offline but since this is more based in the US, it makes it a tad bit difficult.

I usually write at 1-3am in the morning when everything is quiet and dark. Take a look at my lyrics, and you can really see the influences I gather, especially that of Bic Runga, Amiel and Sia.

Experience:

Used to be part of a christian youth group band performing at church functions and youth groups, but now it's mostly me and attempts at lyrical mastery.

Equipment:

Guitar and Keyboard. I'm not that flash, seeing as though I can't remember where I permanently borrowed these objects from.

Haha thanks Lawrence! I just spit my mood in rhyme when I step up to the mic, but hey, if we're in the same mode then we can spin a killer track together. I look forward to working with you in the (near?) future!
