STEPHEN MAY wrote on October 26, 2009:

Not offended, passionate and so fucking dedicated to music and audio processing you have no idea. I see lots of guyz here acting like they are dope, boasting on the contest board how good they are when in fact they suck big time! No offense taken bro, but i never submit a track i think has major flaws. I'd hate to see a guy come around and tell me my track sucks form a technical point of view so i take good care to deliver something neat... I'm sure yoiu guy feel the same. Peace. :)

STEPHEN MAY wrote on October 26, 2009:

Just one more thing : why be so picky on normalizing and shit when you should know you only listen to low bitrate renditions of material that was originaly wave or aiff? This site truncates your stuff with no dithering processing down to 96 kbps, did you notice how fucking horrible some things sound. Audible artifacts on low frequencies (bass, kicks and so forth) as well as on complex textures in higher frequencies.. once i submitted a track with acoustic guitar, and when i heard the result on indaba, i wondered if i was going to leave it. please, don't run around playing the audio savvy when u just ignore that kind of issues.

STEPHEN MAY wrote on October 26, 2009:

I Use multiband compressors and a couple of other devices... You'll never get anything that punchy just by normalizing the track. Also, be honest, looking at the track's waveform gave you enough information to tell the track had been processed. I'm a mastering engineer too. i like to even the levels and push things a lil up, but always cautious of audible distortion. But please for technical issues, use my profile mailbox dude.

STEPHEN MAY wrote on October 26, 2009:

That's a funny question, and not a comment to drop on someone's remix...
