Born in Toronto, raised in Kingston, Jamaica & Miami, FL gave RUX (a.k.a. Teddy RUX) the versatility of music tastes that goes further than Dancehall and Miami Bass, having listened to alot of his father's old school 70's soul records and growing up in the 80's opened his ears to many different genres of music, including the grunge era of the mid-90's.
In Miami, FL RUX started out as a freelance DJ before taking the step into music production back in 1996 with his cousin Dwayne Chin-Quee (a.k.a Supa Dups of Blackchiney) and later moved back to his hometown Toronto, ON.
With MPC in hand, RUX perfected his craft for over the past decade and has been spending his time producing tracks for artists from all genres including Rock, Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae, Jungle & Ska.
His drum-heavy beats, spacey synths and funk riffs draw influences from Timbaland, Neptunes, Kanye West, Just Blaze and Dr. Dre.
