Deyder Cintron wrote on June 20, 2009:

Hey bro I checked out your mix of "Paint this town". I like that the drums are really punchy, the vocals are really aggressive and cool sounding and everything is up like an in your face wall of sound. It suits the track. I think its great, especially after taking only 2 hours to do it. However, I did notice that the palm muted guitars sound like they're more up front than the chorus power chord guitars, and the toms sounded like they were really loud and outside of the drum kit range. Maybe a little more separation and widening could also help the track. Other than that I think it sounds really good. Anyway, that's my take on it. Great stuff!

Haha it's true) Hard to work with annoying double) But sometimes tricks with panorama and delay can make something amazing with double tone.
if it's not hard to you... Could you listen to my mix "Forgiven"? I dunno what i have to do with guitars.. i dont like their sound... I little advice from you will be great! I need many points of view to make it better.

Violet Greene wrote on April 23, 2009:

no...man, it's been a bit of a pain in the rear!
I had to order a firewire PCI card for my computer since it didn't have one, but the order keeps gettin delayed (apparently i'm now gonna get it in mid-May).
Without it I can't make a move.
So..it's been a little irritating, but it has also forced me to spend the time polishing up my songs so they're ready for when the card arrives.

Cannot wait!

Spiced up enough?

Violet Greene wrote on April 2, 2009:

Hi Ryan
Thanks for your advice. I ended up getting the Behringer (firewire) package - got it for a really good price too! Now I just have to set it all up and hope I can make it work ;)
Thanks again!

Ryan John, thanks for the add!

Violet Greene wrote on March 16, 2009:

Hey there
You were SO helpful the last time...maybe I can get your opinion on something I stumbled upon during my quest for the ultimate home recording set-up:
Someone told me about the Behringer Podcastudio package - check out the link below...
http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/PODCASTUDIO-FIREWIRE.aspx

Now...as a newbie I wouldn't wanna jump into gettin the wrong thing, but really this set-up looks like just the thing I need - bearin in mind that I'm a beginner.

Let me know what you think...
Thanks again!
violet

Mark Brabson wrote on March 13, 2009:

I'll be happy to send over a track - I'll get a link to you shortly.
Thanks, Ryan!

Violet Greene wrote on March 13, 2009:

Oh AWESOME!!
Thanks, I'll definitely check it out.
Thing is, i'm probably not going to need to input all of those simultaneously
at this stage, but I think it's worth lookin into something that can for the future.
Really appreciate your advice - thanks again!

Violet Greene wrote on March 13, 2009:

Hey, thanks for the advice!
I've not yet checked the group, but I spoke to a producer this week who told me
that i need an audio interface first - so you're right on the money with that one!
So now i'm looking for a good audio interface that won't leave me totally broke.
I need to input a keyboard, a mic, and an accoustic guitar - I've heard that Mbox 2
Pro is pretty good and includes the Protools software - have you got any advice
on a good audio interface???
Thanks again!

Hi Ryan

Glad you like it.
It was a Trident LM-77 condensor mic through an Oram Pro 24 5.1 console at 48K to Logic. After tracking I put it through a Trident S40 channel strip with a little compression. Thats it!
