Working With Others

How I Work:

Hit me up and I'll try not to disappoint.

Experience:

my high school band, Lizard By Nature, performed a small bunch of times and I recorded those and many of our rehearsals - a couple times I released some of them to friends on CD. In college most of the playing I got to do was in the Yale Bands, I did YJE (jazz), YCB (concert), and YPMB (marching) for several of the years I was there (the marching band there is like nowhere else, don't laugh unless you actually know the deal. I couldn't exactly put up with it much after my frosh year anyway, though.).

I had piano lessons from age 4 to high school graduation, and was a pretty fine trombonist from fifth grade on. Unfortunately my practice habits were never good, but my love for music has only grown and I still retain hope that some day I'll be able to play whatever I can dream up.

Equipment:

61 and 32-key keyboards, (Casio CTK-671, Edirol PCR-30), trombone, cornet, djembe, a mackie mixer (1402-VLZPRO), and a vocal effects processor (Lexicon MPX-1).

My guitars are a Hondo strat and a Yamaha acoustic (with no pickup). My amp is a Peavey Rage 158. I've got an octave pedal, an envelope filter, a talk box, a compression pedal, a digital delay and a flanger, and a Silent Brass mute that acts as a pickup/mic for my trombone.

I have a mac with Logic as well as garageband.

my post was not intended to comment on whether God exists.... I was just saying that it's unhealthy for us to go to churches where they tell us to claim we believe.

look at this pimp...sweet pic...also, you have no "proof" that god doesn't communicate with us...to people who believe in god, every action/thing in the world is probably a form of god's communication. in the end, the evidence you look for is the evidence you get and everything you believe is a function of what you need to believe to get what you want and maintain a stable temperament/psychological make-up...i think you're right that the "answer" to the question of the existence of god isn't a truth-functional statement - it doesn't correspond to any reality out there in the world independent of our thinking about it...it's simply a choice and no one has the ability to convince anyone otherwise, regardless of whatever evidence they may think they have. no one ever gets beyond the surface, when you think you're digging down into the roots you ultimately find that the roots just take you right back up to the top again, just in a different place....one of the main problems with much of organized religion is that it tries to stop you from engaging in that process by pretending that there is something like The Truth and by pretending that there is an acontextual way of grounding The Truth...in the end, believing in god is no different from believing in anything else around you - it's a recognition that without mind there is no language, without language there is no world...both god (metaphysics) and world (physics) are children of mind, and they're children that never even get to leave mind's womb...when we recognize this, the fascinating thing to think about is not whether god exists, but whether and how it is possible to communicate at all...but maybe that brings us right back to god again...who knows...alright, enough outta me...smoke more weed turtle, seriously, smoke more weed....
