CHROME of SHINY THINGZ MUSIC

"I already knew what I wanted," Chrome confidently replies, "but since I started, I'm a person who finishes... so I did just that!"

In one thought, the embodiment of a youthful hunger, powering a driving force within, is revealed. In just a few short moments, as we sit a few inches apart in basement studio tucked in Manhattan's Lower East side, I am immediately struck by his bold eagerness and underlining mystery.I will soon realize exactly from where it springs.

Not just a producer, but a classically trained pianist, Chrome had a clenched fist around theory and an open ear for music. His humble beginnings were as a DJ, and he set out to entertain at an early age. In H.S., and like most DJ's he played at local parties in and around his neighborhood. But, here is where the road divides. In these adolescent years he modeled the late pro skater, Harold Hunter, and was indigenous to a group of skateboarders in Union Square. These subtle differences etch themselves within his music.

Following High School, he landed an internship, first at Atlantic Records then later Def Jam. He was now learning discipline while attending St. John’s University and observing the business behind the artistry he wanted badly to conquer. His position now fueled the intensity of his will and fervor. Chrome attended IAR and received a certification in engineering and he received his
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications all in the same year.

That was a few short years ago, and now Chrome has been accredited with scoring MTV’s “Yo Mamma,” “Run’s House,” “Pimp My Ride,” and “Rob & Big.” Referred to as “The New Hip-Hop Guy,” by power A&R, Manager, and Executive Television Producer, Benny Medina, Chrome has dug his roots in Hip-Hop he and comments that he wants to produce for “anyone that doesn’t fear taking risks...”

Most known for his signature soulful sample filled music, he continues to pound on the pads of his drum machine, while pushing forward to breakthrough, with pure and simple good music.
