I joined indaba on 02/03/2009.I'm doing it for the love of music... money would be icing on the cake. I see myself more as a Producer/Engineer than an solo artist. I make instrumentals and can mix and master vocals. I use hardware and software in my studio. I mainly use DAW software with VSTs or my Roland MV-8000.
I've been a DJ since my teenage years. I collect music of all genres and eras. I have 80+GB of acapellas and 100+GB of instrumentals.
- Experience:
I've always wanted to enroll at M.I in Hollywood, but it's hard to do with a mortgage. I owe a lot of my knowledge to Books/Manuals, DVD & pdf tutorials, and online research. I'm learning all the ins and outs of my hardware & software. I also like to study musical theory and composition. I learned to play the violin at age 7 then guitar. Keyboards are my favorite because I find chords and scales easier not to mention the infinite sounds.
As a DJ I know various types of battlestyle scratches as well as juggling breaks and blending. I enjoy making mash-ups of different genres. I love the history of hiphop and DJing is my favorite element.I'm learning as much as I can about the Music industry. Marketing as well as Law. I would like to cut out any un-needed middlemen in order to benefit me and others artists I work with/for.
