I'm a guitarist / songwriter living on the Lower East Side of New York City. Learned the craft of songwriting after being a screenwriter and comedy writer for 15 years. I have a juke-box playing in my head 24/7

- in 2006, all 5 of my entries in the Billboard International Songwriter's competition got honorable mentions.

i have a cd on cdbaby/itunes - I write and record as The Spitshine Kid: idiosyncratic lo fi songs of mixed genres.

The Spitshine Kid
Favorite Lyric:

I'm not a prophet or a stone age man
Just a mortal with
potential of a superman
And I'm livin' on
I'm tethered to the logic of Homo Sapien
Can't take my eyes from
the great salvation
Of bullshit faith -- Bowie

Working With Others

How I Work:

I'm primarily interested in finding musicians and occasionally singers to collaborate on some of the many songs I have written. Will consider be hired as a session lead guitarist. Rate depends on time investment and availability. Not doing this to make money.

Experience:

played lead guitar for the New York City-based experimental improv-punk-fusion combo, Fire Camp. Album on iTunes.

i did soundtrack songs for a 16mm film I directed called, "Rat Girl".

I am also a visual artist - see complete works at: www.stevesavitz.com

i don't want to brag but i'm pretty good at trashcan basketball. i can sink a wet tea-bag at half-court.

I also do volunteer work for Slackers Without Borders.

Equipment:

Gibson Les Paul
Fender Strat
Epiphone Sheraton
Epiphone RIviera
Ibanez bass
Guild acoustic
