Working With Others

How I Work:

I often collaborate, arrange, "sit-in" or jam for fun with no fees involved just to meet and get to know interesting musicians.
On recording projects for eventual sale, I am most motivated by a challenge to really upgrade a musical concept. Depending on creative input, a share of rights for co-writing, or a session fee for my performance and/or arrangement is negotiable. I am not "signed" with any producer, but I am a member of ASCAP.

Sheet music in .PDF form for many of my works is available free for live performances (and for non-commercial recordings). MIDI files may also be shared.

I offer a number of interesting instruments and sounds (see equipment) My favorites to fill in are Accordion, Piano and Cimbalom. (see Equipment)
I will "sit in" and/or arrange on music ideas that appeal to me - particularly Latin and Jazz numbers. I especially enjoy co-writing and sharing ideas. I prefer not to perform "live".

Experience:

Mr. Syeles is an active composer, arranger and recording session performer, playing several different instruments, in classical, Latin and jazz works, as well as country, pop and rock. He started playing music at age 8 with lessons in piano, accordion, then guitar, clarinet, sax and violin. He also studied theory and composition in college (Duquesne University), played in marching bands, concert bands, rock, jazz, pop and country bands. ------------------------------
INDABA PROJECTS COMPLETED:
The Sailors (Accordion solos),
One Fine Day (Original instrumental version),
Si Te Vuelvo A Encontrar (Spanish version) and
One Fine Day (English version)

Equipment:

ACCORDION - especially on Latin numbers (see Collab "Respect Then Love" and "Tango de Miserendino"
CIMBALOM - Hungarian national instrument (see Collabs "Respect Then Love", and "Tango de Miserendino")
PIANO - (see "Homeland" and collabs "Respect Then Love", "Latin Idea", "One Fine Day" and "Tango de Miserendino")
Clarinet -(see "Homeland")
Violin -(see "Christabel")
Cello -(see Homeland)
Sax -(see Quietude)
Yamaha Motif ES 8 - with hundreds of instruments, sounds, arpeggios, etc. -(see Quietude)<
Garritan Personal Orchestra.- with all the orchestal instruments -(see "Christabel")

Thank you so very much for your insightful feedback on my works. I truly appreciate your words of kind remarks.I hope to have a chance in the future to work with you in some way.
Best wishes to Albert, Shakunetsu

Hi Albert, I'm just listening to your Christabel, It is very mysterious and capturing/ avant-garde, and I like how at the same time it feels baroque and melodious. It's a world you feel from the piece that wraps you around in it..

Best regards,
Shakunetsu

I have to let you know, every song weve released thusfar was with zero premeditation. The way we make music is in one cut. The songs were recorded on my Iphone, so that accounts for the crummy sound quality. But the pieces have been completely unchanged since they were first imagined simultaneously.

Sean Myerovich wrote on March 13, 2009:

Your work is awe inspiring, your a master of your domain. Kudos to you!

Ryan Roberts wrote on February 5, 2009:

Thanks Albert! I'm a fan of your music, I'll let Stimpson know that his music is greatly appreciated! I'm planning on seeing him this weekend. Thank you for the kind words.

I was only able to listen to Snivet...which was great. It seems you get great feedback (or at least twice as good as me!) on all of your songs!

Wow! I adore your new track! It sounds very dark, almost like it belongs in a David Lynch film! Have you ever seen Blue Velvet? Snivet makes me think of it.
It does sound like a jazz track but certainly not what one would consider commercial type jazz, I adore your track but I don't like most jazz so what you've done is very original. Very well done mate!
I've just loaded up a new track as well! I still have to reload up the others but I'm remastering them to get them sounding better first! :-)

Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to and give me such detailed feedback on my music! I totally agree with all your comments as well, Dreaming was composed sometime before The Darkness and I'd learned quite a few valuable productions techniques during the period between the two tracks and I think that helped enormously on the over all sound and dynamics of the pieces. Still learning all the time though! Hopefully the nest piece will be another step forward,
Please let me know when you load up anything new because I love your music, it is so unique to you and I hink that is a real talent.

Wow! You are one talented guy! I love what your doing here! Homeland is very chilled, and I love the almost jazz piano that cruises in the background. Very relaxing, beautifully arranged.
Your third tracks is gorgeous, it sounds almost far eastern, your an excellent pianist. I love the rhythm in this pieces as well!
Is that you on the violin in track 4? Wow! Your skills are many, very well done, it is such a gorgeous piece of music as well, very dark but emotive.
keep up the good work mate I'm really feeling what you're doing! :-)
