Was born in a hospital and lived in a city.
Moved to the burbs and liked it fitty-fitty.
Made some new friends and was in a couple bands.
Bought recording gear - I think I spent a couple grand.

Started writing songs though they weren't very good.
Tried it everyday till I thought I understood.
After a while it seemed things were getting better.
I liked to experiment but man it took forever.

As the years passed and technology improved.
I felt more refined and was finding better grooves.
Getting to the point and trying to keep it simple.
I could finish up a tune without going mental.

It's still a little slow when you do it all yourself.
The concern for me now is all the songs on the shelf. Excuse me now, friend, so I can go back and play.
