I got started with music at an early age, starting formal piano training at age 3, and recording my first vocal works at age 6 (in the form of "Old McDonald" and "Bingo" for a learning tape for Kindergarten kids). I also trained as a trumpet player, and still play extensively for special events, in various groups, and for my own amusement...
Even though I have done lots of session work, and fronted a few bands over the last few years, I am also attending a PhD program full time at the University of Texas - Austin. Music keeps me sane, and if it makes me a few bucks here and there, all the better.
I have only recently begun venturing into the realm of remixes, mostly playing around with concepts in my own work, but I hope you might enjoy this! Because of my piano background, most of my style is grounded in acoustic sound or based upon a piano motif. Most of my music is very melody driven, and not many of my songs have a heavy beat (with some notable exceptions). Remixing is a great way to explore other sounds, and I'm looking forward to it. Enjoy!
(Yeah, so I was working on the remix for the Mariah Carey contest - I saw no female producers doing remixes, and I thought I had a fairly decent mix ala Fantasy and Honey - but I'm too new to this I guess, because I couldn't get it to post on Indaba. Darn it. Anyway, I'll try to sign up for other competitions so y'all can hear some of my work!)

- How I Work:
I am interested in working with other people, both on my own music, and perhaps laying down some vocal tracks for an aspiring songwriter/producer. I'm in the Austin, TX area, though there may be ways to do some recording remotely.
- Experience:
Several years of studio experience. Musical experience: Piano - 26; Vocal - 23; Trumpet - 18. (Wow, looking back at this, I feel old, but I just started young. I'm not even 30 yet!)
- Equipment:
Shure microphones; Roland EM-30 keyboard; Bach Strad. Trumpet; various other instruments and musical devices. Can do online collaboration via computer and small mixing console.
