Thank you, Noel, for your kind words! Anne made this song what it is. I'm polishing the piano performance. Within the week ( I always promise like that!) I'll post a cleaner mix of the song.

Beautiful composition... I really enjoyed it very much. The production seemed fine from my less than ideal PC speakers - and I would love to burn it to CD and crank it up on the home playback system or listen to it in the car on my 1 hour commute to and from work to get some other ideas. Very nice - I'll check some more of your material shortly... I would have to assume that its very similar in quality to this one - which makes me even more eager. Thank you! Noel

well now i got rid of the crickets, put some gloss on the lip smacks, and disguised the cord bangs.
individual trax seem waaaaay wimpy to me, but i feel satisfied with this mix.

yeppers, i concur on the less.

we've got crickets, a couple of not so good lip smacks, and maybe a headphone cord bang or 2.

but i think the earnestness is there, in spite of all the imperfections. - thanks for chiming in, marcel.

Good insight, Marcel. I am coming to share that view. This piece is most poignant in its simplicity and Anne's done a beautiful job with it! I started a string track, myself but I'm having second thoughts. Anne, a truly top-notch job. I love the light harmony treatment in the newest mix. I'm guessing that you feel the same way? less is more.

I thought about adding a guitar or string key track, but this is so beautiful just the way it is ... I think I will leave well enough alone. Sometimes less is more, and I love this as it is.

i'm finally finding a driver for my hardware for vista, so i'm gonna try it out on my laptop as soon as I can find the box, so i'll get the bass line fixed ASAP

hi, chad. haven't had a moment to myself since brother's arrival, but here's that STILL WIMPY lead from 7-26 to play with til you've got the Real Thing from me. we've got country crickets at PIERCING THRU THE INK and WHAT HAPPENED TO THE WISH WE MADE THAT NIGHT.

The only thing I can think of is it sounds like you're using a condenser mic and I think you'd have better results with a decent dynamic mic (would keep the crickets, frogs and hounds off the recording!) on this track. But other than that, I already adore it so my opinion is biased. If the wildlife get too wild, I'll try a noise gate on the track but I doubt the need for that. By the way, that processing on your vocal ( "echo thingies" in session bimbo language) is just magnificent!

couple of things to fix:

no harmony yet. they will be minimal.
i believe this last mix might have hound dogs and crickets and frogs in the background.
