ah yeah I think Indaba is just having some site issues! Because I've been having problems veiwing everything including the main page. Its really weird. Do you know how to report site problems to the people who make this site?

Les Bennett wrote on August 4, 2008 :
I am still having problems with viewing this page, but please feel free to add any files you want to this and we will get going on it. Les

title that comes to me is "looking for change" , thats what i hear , thats how it works for me - loud and clear , made some notes , not in a particularly precise order until or when i get a green light but a great piece never the less

Yes you can add vocals later if you want to. We can actually make several songs out of this if we want to. I want to take this time to thank everyone for all of the interest / help with this song. This is my first experience working with other people writing a song. I feel very proud that other people have taken such a shine to this song. We could make different versions of this song, and each of us could call it our own version. I haven't done anymore work on it because I am trying to stand back with what I have offered and let others do whatever they want to do. I do have some very exciting news coming very soon, and I will be letting you know more details asap ! Just have fun, and remember that there is not a wrong way to do this. Les

really like the music to this track , bouncy and varied , if you are looking to turn in new direction , let me know , i think i could do something with this track. adore the combination of elements.
Anyway a great listen - just a question is the title fixed in stone , like to go with the flow on these things.
real potential here.

Question, once he posts what he's saying in english would it be possible I could sing the english words? Because I can't make lyrics for this song (Its too hard T.T)...And I still really badly want to try this song out!

Les Bennett wrote on July 26, 2008 :
I think that would be great to have vocals in french. We could do one english version, and one french. Please write down the words in english so we know what you are singing about. Have fun ! Les

Joe S. wrote on July 26, 2008 :
French vocals would be cool...I've been listening to Yelle lately.

arondeale alain wrote on July 26, 2008 :

I really like your lyrics and your voice Lisa!!! =3 Great job =3

Les Bennett wrote on July 19, 2008 :
I have made a new mix without sax for everyone to use. Just have fun, and remember there is no "wrong" way to do this song. We need to leave our egos and feelings behind, and all work together to make a great song. Les

Lisa Z. wrote on July 19, 2008 :
Hi! I'm new to Indaba, but i heard your song, and thought i'd give it a try. I uploaded pt. 1 of vocals, but i also have pts. 2 & 3. U probably hate it, but i only have sound recorder and a crappy computer mic and it's 3 am, and i was trying not to be too loud. (the sound recorder only let me record one minute at a time which is why there's 3 parts). I figured you could use the lyrics if u like them, and maybe someone else could sing it (I'm hearing David Cook in my head). Send me a message if u like it, and i will type the words up for you. Also, if u know any recording programs i can download for vocals, maybe i can try to sing it again for u. Good luck with your song, it sounds like a hit to me!

Satu Agi Kanashiro wrote on July 16, 2008 :
Alrighty! So at the beginning I sung this with the normal version (Before the sax was added) And I just used the sax version to help me a bit, but these kind of work for the beginningish? And since the song is called Alot like you, I was thinking on the lines of a friend ship or more lol, and that like...Your pretty much saying in the song that you two are simularish? Lol, I dunno, but it worked with the song! So yeah here: (Its kind of retarded, but yeah lol)

Ohhh

I feel so close to you baby
Sometimes I feel like were alike.

Ohh

Your my other side

Cause I know your there

And you'll never bail me out

Satu Agi Kanashiro wrote on July 16, 2008 :
Ah,Okay.

Also, thanks for inviting me to this session! Because I'm still new with Indaba, and I'm just starting with all this so it really helps =)

I'll try to come down with some lines! =D Thanks again Les, and you have a good day too ^^

Les Bennett wrote on July 16, 2008 :
I think that is what Joe means Satu about the sax being so dominant in the song, so he will probably just tone it down some. As far as helping with the lyrics, just jot down some lines that you like and we can all use them to work with. I find sometimes the main line or "hook" comes from within a line in a song. So many songs have been written with multiple authors. Maybe Joe has a definite message to convey, or maybe the two of you would come up with a different approach altogether for the song. To me music is alot like a book in that the listener sees and feels how they feel about the words and music. Once a book is made into a movie, it is defined in black and white if you will, and definitly tells the story as the director sees it. Just have fun and remember there is no right or wrong when you are writing a song or a book for that matter. Have a great day, Les

Satu Agi Kanashiro wrote on July 16, 2008 :
Thanks =3 But how would I help with the lyrics?

Also, the good thing about the sax being in the song, is that the people who are singing can use those parts to sing along to. Atleaast that might work? And then afterwards they can get the version without the sax and put there voice together with that. And then you'd just have the small part with the sax as like the bridge in the song or whatever. Maybe, or not. Lol, so yeah. Only a suggestion >.<..

Les Bennett wrote on July 15, 2008 :
You can mix it anyway you like, I really only used the sax throughout the song to fill in because there aren't any vocals yet. Have fun !

Joe S. wrote on July 15, 2008 :
Hi Les,

I'm gonna take a stab at some lyrics...Satu you can help if you want. One problem I'm seeing is the sax layed in throughout the song. I think it might work better if the sax were highlighted in part of the song only...as say a counter melody. I'll try to mix something up to give you an idea of what I mean..

Cool?

Satu Agi Kanashiro wrote on July 15, 2008 :
Lol, I can't add lyrics to this song lol xD Its to hard T.T

ANNE & MARTY wrote on July 13, 2008 :
jeez, les - am i crazy, or did you switch songs on us?

Les Bennett wrote on July 8, 2008 :
I have uploaded a new mix with the proper ending fade out. Please download: this is the mix to use 7-08-08 and we will use this as the official reference track for the song. As to the Queenish backup vocals, listen to some old Queen and you will notice that there is a fast attack, and the uniqueness of the harmonies. I just thought that it would add some depth to the song, but it is not essential. Have fun, and have a great day !

Satu Agi Kanashiro wrote on July 7, 2008 :
One question, by Queenish Back-up Vocals, what would queenish sound like?

Satu Agi Kanashiro wrote on July 7, 2008 :
Ah thanks Annie lol, I didn't know that.

Also, Les, I like the "New Mix" That you just uploaded.

Les Bennett wrote on July 7, 2008 :
This song remains very open to anything. If you read my blog you will see my view on music and the way that I have worked in the past. It is now time for me to sit back, and let the song take it's own path by input from others. The only thing that I plan to change on this song is the ending ( I need to fade it out correctly ) but the rest of it is up to whoever wants to contribute. I think that when we are close to finishing the song, that we all decide how is should be done. Maybe we should put a time on it to be finished ( where we have all the tracks submitted ) take a little vote on what is to be used, and then start working on the final mix. I appreciate all of the interest, and it makes me very proud to know that this song is touching other people's hearts. Anything you wish to add is acceptable, and as a team, we can make this song something to make the world just a little better place to live. Thanks again for all of your support. Les

ANNE & MARTY wrote on July 6, 2008 :
that is correct.
here is les bennett's post: " I do not have any lyrics yet, so that is very open."
and thank you!

Satu Agi Kanashiro wrote on July 6, 2008 :
Annie, were allowed to make up our own lyrics?! By the way, I really really REALLY Like "I Wonder Why" =3 It sounds really good.

ANNE & MARTY wrote on July 6, 2008 :
oh oh!!
in the middle of packing for a week outta town, THIS occurs to me:

don't know why
you and i
couldn't cross the finish line
together

don't know why
what we tried
didn't keep us satisfied

ahhhhh

etcetera, etcetera....
