Acoustic Song Idea.

This is just a very rough recording of a simple two part song idea that I've had for a long time. I never spent the time to develop it any further because anything my bandmate Pete and I did ended up sounding too cheesy.

I'm looking for someone to add to the song without making it sound too sing-songy. If anything, it would be nice if someone could darken it up a bit, but anything is welcome!

The song is pretty basic. Part A goes: G D C D, and Part B goes: C D C D.

Hey Dan - I heard a couple of ideas while listening to your rough cut. Here's one (the other is a bit more on the funky side...)
Please let me know if you decide to go forward with this piece and what sort of bass guitar treatment you might be interested in. If it's in my range I'd like to take a stab at it. :-)

Ok I finally bought a new mic so I can record again.. YAY ME!!!! I'll work on it over the weekend because I haven't completed the lyrics. But I think its really coming together pretty good.. The sax is hot and so is the piano..

Waiting to get Sonar to make a better job.

Dan Zaccagnino wrote on April 7, 2009 at 10:02 AM:
I really liked the way the vocals and the sax are the only thing at the end! Even if you change the lyrics I hope you'll sing something there! Thanks for adding such touching lyrics.

Patrick Lajeunesse wrote on April 6, 2009 at 9:33 PM:
The lyrics are not always comprehensible but i'll put them here soon. It talks about my 4 years old girls birthday.

Patrick Lajeunesse wrote on April 6, 2009 at 8:47 PM:
The happy birthday at the end wont stay. I don't think . hé hé

Patrick Lajeunesse wrote on April 6, 2009 at 5:49 PM:
Please don't mind the bad sound for now. It's just to give a rough idea.

Hey Dan... Nice song! I was struck by your desire to "darken" it up a bit. This audition started out as a drum groove then quickly escalated into a drum/bass/vocal mix...so I left it that way. If you hear anything of interest, let me know. Thanks for listening!

Josh Baker wrote on November 5, 2007 at 10:47 PM:
I took a shot at a quick mix, might make it easier on some.

Jackie T. wrote on November 5, 2007 at 7:11 PM:
I've uploaded the accordian and marimbas files. I just notice some crosstalk. It might not be too noticeable with othe other things going on. But that hiss/hum is still there. I did not upload the bass, I will if you need that as well.

Josh Baker wrote on November 4, 2007 at 6:48 PM:
I took a shot at a drum track, hope it doesn't destroy the mood.

Jackie T. wrote on November 1, 2007 at 6:49 PM:
Dan, I'll try and have those separated files uploaded by 11/5/07.

Dan Zaccagnino wrote on October 30, 2007 at 11:57 AM:
Hey Jackie, those parts are great. If you have a chance to upload them individually I'd love to mess around mixing them. They also seem to have some pretty heavy static going on so hopefully some of that will be gone with the individual files. Thanks! I'm a huge marimba fan!

Jackie T. wrote on June 20, 2007 at 9:17 PM:
Dan, I know you were looking to darken this idea up. I just wanted submit a little different flavor, because the guitar sounded hopeful (happy). If you look at doing an alternate version, this might be something to consider. I can break the parts out if you decide to use. The timing is off at certain spots though.
