UPDATE 2/2/09:
As you've probably noticed, Indaba co-founder and co-CEO Dan Zaccagnino was on the Colbert Report on Feb 2nd. To make your collaborating experience more pleasurable, we've moved all the remixes over to the new and improved session page. We don't have the video of the show yet, but we'll post it as soon as we have it in our hot little hands.
____________
UPDATE 1/22/09: In case you missed the show last night, Colbert played Chris Lewis' remix (with a really cool video) and issued a a new set of challenges. Check out the video:
We've posted the audio from the show - download it from the bottom of the Tracks list, and get started on Round 2 now!
____________
1/8/09: Last night on The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert interviewed Creative Commons founder Larry Lessig, about his new book, "Remix: Making Art and Commerce Thrive in the Hybrid Economy" (which everyone should check out - http://remix.lessig.org/). Lessig, a strong proponent of modifying copyright restrictions on art (including music), was there to talk about the value added to society when people are encouraged to share and remix creative material.
During the interview, Colbert challenged someone to break the rules:
"Never... ever... ever... take anything of mine and remix it! For instance, I will be very angry if anyone takes this interview right here and remixes it with some great dance beat, and it starts showing up in clubs across America."
The nerve! Let's show the man the power of remixing, and convince him that remixes are a good thing!
We've started this session and uploaded the audio from the interview here. As joint copyright holder of the interview Lessig has licensed the audio to you under a Creative Commons BY License (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/). You are free to use it for any purpose, save for endorsements. Get to it!
