Hip Hop Savior

Looking for some lead guitar, and some vocals, the lead needs to be restrained to give some room for the vocal track.

Ok guys the official revised updated session liner notes are as follows:

Da Alltiment - Primary Vocals & Lyrics
Anne Cozean - Backing Vocals & Lyrics
M3 Roadworx - Primary Guitar
Minime C. - Lead Guitar
NewtonBach - Producer

ole kirkeby wrote on May 21, 2008 :
I would prefer if you could use my artist name, M3 Roadworx. I should probably not have registered on Indaba with my obscure Scandinavian name.

ANNE & MARTY wrote on May 20, 2008 :
you produced this beautifully, mike.
i can't believe i like it more with every listen.
that ending is brilliant.
bravo, mr bach.

mike - don't be afraid to use my last name - i'm thinkin people will think Minime and I have been united in matrimony.

The latest mix is great. I think Anne's background vocals complement the male lead brilliantly, and they should be out in the foreground where they are clearly noticable. Good balance between the instruments, professional production. Not far off being commercially viable.

minime c. wrote on May 18, 2008 :
Hi newton,
very fine mix.Everything works very fine together .

Good Session !

ANNE & MARTY wrote on May 17, 2008 :
i would have used less of me until closer to the end - but there's some really good stuff happening all over the place.
Da-Altiment, you have such a strong, clear presence - your vocal is so good.
thanks for your guitar, ole - it helped set the tone. good job pulling this thru to final mode, boss bach.

Wonderful project!! It's been my pleasure working with you guys!!!! Many more tracks to come... Newton!!

newton bach wrote on May 17, 2008 :
Ok, Here is a final mix, let me know if it's THE final mix :), You all have come together to make this a fantastic track, I'm very happy with the outcome, I want to tip my hat and say thank you for bringing your talent and creativity and making this something special!

Da Alltiment wrote on May 6, 2008 :
Mann!!!! that last mix is crazy!! I like it a lot... Newton!! Anne, I like those extra vocals also!! This track right here is a classic.. I can't wait until it's done, so I can get my copy... It's like something I can hear on the radio!!

ole kirkeby wrote on May 4, 2008 :
It is a very elaborate production, hats off to Newton for putting in such an effort! It is a good idea to put something on top of the guitar in the beginning. I thought the naked guitar in the previous version was a bit non-happening. I also like the occasional stops in the drum track. The one thing I might want to change is Anne's vocal in the chorus. It could be featured more prominently. It is the vocals and the distorted guitar that gives the chorus such a great paranoid feel. At the moment it sounds a little too slick.

minime c. wrote on May 4, 2008 :
Hello Newton,
The Mix is very fine.I like the special Fx on the voices, the doubling and all this other what you have do on the tracks.THE SOUND IS SUPER COOL !!!
And Annes new vocals working very fine with the Vocals from Da Alttlment. All instrumennt parts are sounding very good in the mix too.

PERFECT SESSION !

newton bach wrote on May 4, 2008 :
I've uploaded a semi final mix for the session, there's a few changes, and I've integrated Anne's new tracks, I'd like to hear your thoughts and if you try it out on a few players tell me what needs to be tweaked with eq, etc. I've really enjoyed working on this track with such pro's, thanks guys!

APPARENTLY NOT!

newton bach wrote on May 3, 2008 :
I'm very much liking what you did on that Anne, can you give that as 2 seperate solo tracks?

newton bach wrote on May 2, 2008 :
I'm working up the tracks, I'll get something up soon.

newton bach wrote on April 30, 2008 :
That was hot, can I have that as a solo track and we can send this to the done stack!

Da Alltiment wrote on April 30, 2008 :
Okay, I can do that!!!

ole kirkeby wrote on April 30, 2008 :
I agree, the ending is a bit of an anti-climax in the current mix. It should go out on a high. The chorus, with its paranoid feel, is just excellent. It would be nice to hear a little more of that.

newton bach wrote on April 29, 2008 :
Everyone has done a fantastic job on this track, it's come a long way from when Ole added the sweet guitar, Minime with the rockin haunting lead, DaAlltiment with great lyrics and excellent vocal feel, and Anne's sophisticated melody.

Now it's just the ending that bugs me, besides some knob twisting for a better mix.

DaAlltiment, how do you feel about letting it all go at the end 30 seconds, maybe even some double time to show the HHS chops, I think we need to end it on a vocal, right now there's 30 seconds of instruments before the end, and it's a short song as it is.

ANNE & MARTY wrote on April 28, 2008 :
ah, so that is YOU in the mix, ole! good to meet you.
i just had a listen to FIRST BLOOD on your page - excellent!
Da-Altiment - you have a supremely powerful presence, and this backing seems to spotlight that presence.
it's wonderful to be surrounded by first rate music makers like you gentlemen obviously are!
anne

ole kirkeby wrote on April 28, 2008 :
I like, I like. It has a sort of horror movie feel to it now. I see images from Bates Motel when I listen to the chorus. The guitar is terribly unclean when it gets exposed like that but I think it is too much hassle to record a new version and bring it into the mix. I am just going to have to pretend I did it on purpose to give it a bit of an edge (yeah, right).

Da Alltiment wrote on April 27, 2008 :
Yeah, Newton... I like this mix.. Anne & Marty, I like the vocals... You bring the song alive!!! Nice work on the guitar also.... Job well done.. I'll work wit you guys anytime...

minime c. wrote on April 27, 2008 :
Hi Newton,
the mix is SUPER !!!

ANNE & MARTY wrote on April 26, 2008 :
nice work, mike. da-a comes across really beautifully.
i felt the end could have used a chorus to fatten it up vocally.
i'd lower me in volume thru-out.
but it's definitely a happening song - i love the music at the changes.
this is a good groove and one interesting mix.
