Welcome! Third Eye Blind is asking Indaba members to inspire them and participate in the band's creative process as they complete their upcoming album, Ursa Major.

Here's the deal. As 3EB finishes laying down tracks, the band will post unmixed instrument stems for you to tweak, shape, and edit through a series of contests. They want to hear your vision for their songs. The first track, "Non-Dairy Creamer," is already available for you to work on!

Through a regular blog that chronicles their experience of creating an album, access to the unmixed stems and the dialogue among Indaba members, you'll have the chance to watch the group develop their artistic concept.

Since going independent with their own label, 3EB has a renewed sense of freedom and purpose - including a strong desire to interact directly with their audience in innovative ways. Here are some of the things you can do to participate in 3EB's new sound:

  • Mix, remix, or add your own part to their new songs
  • Get to know the band through pictures and videos of them in the studio
  • Read and respond to blogs from band members

Thanks for the Great Inspirations!

Hi all, We're writing to let you know that the 3EB studio access program on Indaba is coming to a close.  It's been inspiring for all of us - Stephan, the band, and the Indaba team - to hear all the creativity, the crazy range of genres, and the intense discussions that have made this so much more than a contest.  As you already know, 3EB is working on a new album and your work has certainly helped instill a special spirit of collaboration in their creative process.  The band will be reaching out each of the winners about prizes and to say congratulations.  They'll also be ...

Red Star Response

Hey guys, Chrissy here.  We have had such a blast listening to your mixes for Red Star.  It's incredible how different they all sound from each other.  The guys have been working tirelessly on this new album. Your support on the EP surpassed anything we expected.     So about Red Star... the guys haven't been able to pick a winner.  Stephan and I have been going back and forth with the guys  trying to figure out who deserves this one.  Because your remixes are so different, the guys are finding it hard to pick their fav...

Brad's Thoughts

RED STAR EP Feels great to release some music after a long time.  It is different this time; its us shining through minus the foggy lens of outside influence.  It is just the beginning, we are naked, and we learn fast. Sometimes it is hard to do but I'm really just enjoying Red Star, the song, as a fan.  Secret agent/love song…way up there on my favorites list of 3eb tunes. Hope you enjoy.

Stephan's Thoughts

I am totally freaked out at how many people are finding and listening to these songs.  There's a line in the song Red Star "the system shut us down now, we find each other in the underground".  There's also a line in Non-Dairy Creamer that says "I sincerely want to thank you all for listening... I thank you all."  That's what I have to say today.  I'm currently nursing a sore throat which I hope will be gone by this Friday in New Orleans and I'm in the studio today trying to finish songs for  Ursa Major .  I have tingles going up the back of my neck today, and it ...

What is an Album

FROM STEPHAN JENKINS:   WHAT IS AN ALBUM   My life is measured out in albums I have loved.    We try to make those albums.   On November 18, THIRD EYE BLIND is going to release three new songs from our up coming album, Ursa Major.    It’s been five years since we put out our last album.    Since then, the options on how to release music have exploded.    Y ay!     All of these options made us ask:   W hat’s an album?    How does one want to encounter it?     Reaching people with musi...

NDC Winner & Honorable Mentions

Oh Lordy, this was awesome. We have to say that through listening to these we never found one that was bad. You, the community, wrangling this music, making these mixes have inspired us. We are truly flattered and we think you are legit. You sound like pros. It is absurd that we are picking a "winner" as if one of these was better than all the others. We had a hard time with this. We loved all the different beats and change ups. Winning Submission Eduardo Reynoso Jr "Versatile" "The humor at the top made us laugh for sure-as well as the way he mixed and how loud he rocked the guitar volumes -s...
